What is CVE-2000-0315?

The traceroute tool in NetBSD 1.3.3 and various Linux operating systems permits local unprivileged users to alter the source address of packets. This flaw may be exploited to execute spoofing attacks, enabling attackers to impersonate legitimate hosts, disrupt network traffic, or evade detection by network security measures.
