What is CVE-2000-1003?

The NETBIOS client present in Windows 95 and Windows 98 is susceptible to a vulnerability that allows a remote attacker to disrupt file sharing services. By manipulating the driver type returned during file sharing operations, an attacker can induce a failure in the client, causing it to crash and leading to a denial of service condition.
