What is CVE-2000-1032?

The client authentication interface in Check Point Firewall-1 versions up to 4.0 is susceptible to a security flaw that produces distinct error messages based on whether an invalid username or an invalid password is entered. This inconsistency allows remote attackers to determine valid usernames, potentially compromising the security of the firewall by facilitating targeted attacks.
