What is CVE-2001-0754?

Cisco CBOS versions 2.3.8 and earlier are susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability that can be exploited by remote attackers. By sending a series of large ICMP ECHO REPLY (ping) packets, an attacker can cause the affected system to enter ROMMON mode, halting its packet forwarding ability and interrupting network services. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to the stability of network operations that rely on Cisco CBOS.
