What is CVE-2001-1229?

The software components Icecast prior to version 1.3.9 and Libshout before version 1.0.4 are susceptible to buffer overflow vulnerabilities. Attackers can exploit these weaknesses to cause a denial of service, which results in application crashes, and potentially execute arbitrary code on the affected systems.
