What is CVE-2002-0146?

The Fetchmail email client versions prior to 5.9.10 have a vulnerability that fails to correctly manage the maximum number of messages, allowing an attacker to exploit this weakness via a remote IMAP server. By sending a message count that exceeds the buffer size, it is possible for an attacker to overwrite memory. This could lead to possible execution of arbitrary code, posing a significant risk to users and their systems.
