Buffer Overflow in Ettercap Affects Multiple Network Decoder Versions
CVE-2002-0276
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2002-0276?
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in various decoders of Ettercap versions 0.6.3.1 and earlier, particularly when deployed on networks with a maximum transmission unit (MTU) exceeding 2000 bytes. This weakness allows remote attackers to send specially crafted packets that exceed buffer limits, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution on the affected system.
