What is CVE-2002-0964?
The vulnerability in Half-Life Server allows remote attackers to initiate a denial of service condition by flooding the server with multiple responses to its initial challenge, each using different cd_key values. This tactic consumes server resources and reaches the player connection limit, consequently preventing legitimate players from joining the game until the excessive responses timeout, thus disrupting the gameplay experience for many users.
