What is CVE-2002-1365?

The vulnerability allows attackers to exploit a heap-based buffer overflow in Fetchmail 6.1.3 and earlier, primarily due to improper handling of the '@' character when calculating buffer lengths for local addresses. By crafting a malicious header containing numerous local addresses, attackers can execute arbitrary code remotely, compromising the security of affected systems.
