What is CVE-2002-1797?
The ChaiVM component used in HP LaserJet models, including the Color LaserJet 4500, 4550, and standard LaserJet 4100, 8150, suffers from a serious access control vulnerability. This flaw allows local users to manipulate services hosted by ChaiServer without proper authentication, which could lead to unauthorized additions, deletions, or modifications of these services. Such a security gap poses a significant risk to the integrity of the affected printing systems.
