Insecure Default Password in Xerox DocuTech 6110 and 6115 Products
CVE-2002-1833
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2002-1833?
The Xerox DocuTech 6110 and DocuTech 6115 printers are susceptible to a security flaw due to their default configurations. These models come pre-set with weak administrative passwords that can be exploited by remote attackers to gain unauthorized access. Specifically, the DocuTech 6110 uses 'service!' as the default password on Solaris 8.0, while the DocuTech 6115 defaults to 'administ' on Windows NT. If left unchanged, these weak credentials expose the devices to potential security breaches, enabling attackers to escalate their privileges and perform malicious actions.
