What is CVE-2002-1953?

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the goim handler of AOL Instant Messenger versions 4.4 to 4.8.2616. This flaw allows remote attackers to exploit the vulnerability by manipulating the screen name parameter. When users select 'Get Info' on a buddy, the overflow occurs, potentially leading to a denial of service due to a crash.
