What is CVE-2003-0506?

Microsoft NetMeeting versions prior to Service Pack 4 are susceptible to a denial of service attack due to the processing of malformed packets. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to shutdown ongoing NetMeeting conferences by sending specially crafted packets during a chat conversation, effectively disrupting communication and collaboration. This leaves users vulnerable to forced disconnections and unavailability of the conferencing tool.
