What is CVE-2004-0202?

This vulnerability in the IDirectPlay4 Application Programming Interface (API) allows remote attackers to exploit the flaw through specially crafted packets. When these malformed packets are received, they can cause the application to crash, leading to a Denial of Service condition. This affects various versions of Microsoft DirectPlay from 7.0a to 9.0b, impacting systems running on Windows Server 2003 and earlier.
