What is CVE-2004-0636?

The vulnerability allows remote attackers to exploit a buffer overflow in the 'goaway' function of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) 5.5 by sending a specially crafted long Away message. This can lead to the execution of arbitrary code on the affected system, posing significant security risks to users of AIM versions including 5.5 and 5.5.3595.
