Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Sharutils by GNU
CVE-2004-1773
Currently unrated
Summary
Multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities exist in Sharutils versions 4.2.1 and earlier, which could enable an attacker to execute arbitrary code. This can be achieved through specially crafted output from the wc command to shar, as well as other unknown vectors in the unshar component. Affected users should consider updating to secure versions to mitigate potential risks.
