What is CVE-2006-0734?

The SV_CheckForDuplicateNames function in Valve Software's Half-Life CSTRIKE Dedicated Server version 1.6 and earlier is vulnerable to a denial of service attack. Remote authenticated users can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted connection string that contains a backslash character at the end. This can result in an infinite loop and hang the server daemon, rendering the service unavailable to legitimate users.
