Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities in Ezstream Affecting Remote Code Execution
CVE-2007-1344
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2007-1344?
Ezstream, an open-source streaming client, is susceptible to multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the file src/ezstream.c. Attackers can exploit these flaws by sending specially crafted XML configuration files. The vulnerability stems from the 'urlParse' function, leading to a stack-based overflow, and the 'ReplaceString' function, which triggers a heap-based overflow. Successful exploitation may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the affected system. Users are urged to upgrade to Ezstream version 0.3.0 or later to mitigate these risks.
