What is CVE-2007-5397?
The activePDF Server is susceptible to a heap-based buffer overflow that arises from improper handling of packet size fields. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted packets, with the declared size being smaller than the actual size of the data. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. Versions 3.8.4 and 3.8.5.14, as well as potentially other versions prior to 3.8.6.16, are impacted.
