What is CVE-2008-0554?

The vulnerability involves a buffer overflow in the 'readImageData' function located in 'giftopnm.c' within the netpbm software suite. This issue allows remote user-assisted attackers to exploit the vulnerability by sending specially crafted GIF images. Successful exploitation can lead to a denial of service, crashing the application, and may also allow attackers to execute arbitrary code on the affected systems. This vulnerability closely resembles the issues raised in CVE-2006-4484.
