What is CVE-2008-1246?

A privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the Cisco PIX/ASA Finesse Operating System versions 7.1 and 7.2. Local users can exploit this issue by manipulating input at the enable prompt. By entering characters, erasing them with the Backspace key, and holding the Backspace key for an extended period after the last character is deleted, users can gain elevated privileges. This vulnerability may only be reproduced when the enable password is set to blank, potentially enabling unauthorized access and control over the device.
