What is CVE-2008-2519?

The Core FTP Client version 2.1 Build 1565 is susceptible to a directory traversal vulnerability that enables remote FTP servers to create or overwrite arbitrary files. This is facilitated through the exploitation of '../' sequences in responses to LIST commands. If a remote attacker is able to leverage this weakness, they could execute malicious code by writing into system directories, particularly the Startup folder.
