What is CVE-2008-4242?

ProFTPD versions, particularly 1.3.1, are susceptible to a vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary FTP commands by sending long FTP commands from a malicious FTP client. This flaw takes advantage of an existing user session from a web browser, thus enabling CSRF attacks effectively. The exploitation method leverages lengthy ftp:// URIs which ProFTPD misinterprets as multiple commands, leading to unauthorized access and operations on FTP servers.
