What is CVE-2008-7178?

The Uploader module 1.1 for XOOPS is susceptible to a directory traversal vulnerability, which enables remote attackers to access sensitive files on the server. By manipulating the filename parameter in the 'downloadfile' action of index.php, attackers can exploit the '..' (dot dot) sequence to traverse directories, potentially leading to unauthorized file access.
