What is CVE-2008-7288?

IBM Tivoli Directory Server (TDS) version 5.2 before 5.2.0.5-TIV-ITDS-LA0007 on AIX is susceptible to a denial of service vulnerability. This weakness arises when an anonymous DIGEST-MD5 LDAP Bind operation is executed, allowing remote attackers to destabilize the server. Exploiting this vulnerability can lead to interruptions in service, making the directory server unavailable.
