Password Exposure in GNOME Seahorse by Attacker Proximity
CVE-2008-7320
6.8MEDIUM
What is CVE-2008-7320?
The vulnerability in GNOME Seahorse allows physically proximate attackers, at an unattended workstation, to read plaintext passwords using the quickAllow dialog when the keyring is unlocked. This situation arises when users leave their sessions unattended while the keyring remains accessible. Although the trackback notes a design decision behind this behavior, it poses a significant risk to sensitive information, particularly in environments where users may step away from their devices momentarily.
