What is CVE-2009-10005?
The ContentKeeper Web Appliance, now under the management of Impero Software, is susceptible to an arbitrary file access vulnerability due to the exposure of the mimencode binary via a CGI endpoint. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to exploit the system by crafting specific POST requests that include traversal and output parameters, enabling them to read sensitive files from the underlying filesystem, such as the /etc/passwd file, thus breaching user privacy and system integrity.
