Denial of Service Vulnerability in SNMP Daemon of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
CVE-2009-1887
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2009-1887?
A vulnerability in the SNMP daemon (snmpd) of net-snmp 5.0.9 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 allows remote attackers to crash the daemon through a specially crafted SNMP GETBULK request. This triggers a divide-by-zero error, leading to a denial of service condition. The issue is exacerbated by an incorrect fix for a previous vulnerability (CVE-2008-4309).
