What is CVE-2009-20003?
The Xenorate Multimedia Player, specifically versions up to and including 2.50, is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow when it processes maliciously crafted .xpl playlist files. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input length validation within the application, enabling attackers to overwrite the Structured Exception Handler (SEH). As a result, they can execute arbitrary code, typically requiring local interaction by persuading a user to open the compromised .xpl file.
