What is CVE-2009-20007?

The Talkative IRC v0.4.4.16 client is susceptible to a stack-based buffer overflow due to improper handling of specially crafted response strings from connected clients. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending an excessively long message that overflows a designated buffer space, potentially enabling arbitrary code execution within the context of the affected process. This issue is remotely exploitable and does not require any form of authentication, posing a significant threat to users of the software.
