The vulnerability in Zen Cart occurs due to a lack of required administrative authentication for the admin/sqlpatch.php component, which permits remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands. By exploiting this flaw, attackers can manipulate database queries through the query_string parameter during execution actions. This issue is notably related to accessing the password_forgotten.php file without proper validation, enabling unauthorized users to disrupt database integrity and access sensitive data.
