What is CVE-2009-2457?

The DS/NDSD component in Novell eDirectory 8.8 prior to Service Pack 5 is susceptible to a denial of service condition. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed bind LDAP packets, resulting in a crash of the eDirectory service. This can disrupt access to directory services, impacting the availability of applications relying on eDirectory.
