What is CVE-2009-5140?

The SIP implementation on the Linksys SPA2102 phone adapter is susceptible to an authentication challenge flaw. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized access by exploiting the hashed credentials transmitted in response to invalid authentication attempts. The design flaw relates to the SIP Digest authentication process, making it vulnerable to brute-force attacks. Attackers can leverage this vulnerability to breach security measures and gain control of affected systems.
