What is CVE-2010-10017?
WM Downloader version 3.1.2.2 is vulnerable to a buffer overflow when handling specially crafted .m3u playlist files. The software does not adequately validate the length of the input, which allows attackers to overwrite structured exception handler (SEH) records. This weakness can be exploited locally, enabling an attacker to execute arbitrary code when the user opens a maliciously designed .m3u file with the application, potentially running the payload with the same privileges as the current user.
