What is CVE-2010-20113?
EasyFTP Server versions up to 1.7.0.11 are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow due to inadequate validation of the path parameter in the HTTP interface when processing GET requests for list.html. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying an excessively long path value, which may lead to a corruption of control flow structures. This vulnerability is particularly concerning as it allows anonymous access through the embedded web server, thus requiring no authentication to exploit. The issue was addressed in version 1.7.0.12, after which the product was renamed to UplusFtp.
Affected Version(s)
EasyFTP Server * <= 1.7.0.11
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
