What is CVE-2010-2799?

A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the 'nestlex' function of Socat, versions 1.5.0.0 to 1.7.1.2, and 2.0.0-b1 to 2.0.0-b3. This flaw allows context-dependent attackers to exploit the vulnerability when bidirectional data relay is enabled. By supplying long command-line arguments, an attacker could potentially execute arbitrary code on the affected system, posing serious security risks.
