What is CVE-2010-4237?

Mercurial, prior to version 1.6.4, contains a security flaw that fails to adequately verify the Common Name field in SSL certificates. This oversight permits remote attackers, who possess a certificate issued by a trusted Certificate Authority, to execute man-in-the-middle attacks. Such an attack can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data and user credentials, posing a significant risk to users relying on Mercurial for version control and system management.
