What is CVE-2010-4528?

The vulnerability in the MSN protocol plugin of Pidgin, specifically in the libpurple library versions 2.7.6 to 2.7.8, allows authenticated remote users to exploit the application by sending a short p2pv2 packet during a DirectConnect session. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference, resulting in a denial of service as the application crashes, disrupting connectivity and communication for users.
