What is CVE-2010-5160?

A race condition in ESET Smart Security 4.2.35.3 on Windows XP allows local users to manipulate memory changes during hook-handler execution. This flaw enables unauthorized execution of code that is typically blocked by kernel-mode hook handlers, presenting a serious security risk. The issue, referred to as an argument-switch or KHOBE attack, allows crafted programs to bypass conventional protections, raising concerns about the integrity of local security mechanisms.
