What is CVE-2011-0413?

The ISC DHCPv6 server is susceptible to a denial of service attack due to an assertion failure triggered by remote attackers. By sending a malicious message over IPv6 for an address that has been declined or abandoned, an attacker can cause the DHCP daemon to crash, leading to interruptions in network services and affecting the availability of DHCP functionalities.
