What is CVE-2011-10012?

The NetOp Remote Control Client v9.5 contains a vulnerability that can be exploited through a stack-based buffer overflow when processing maliciously crafted .dws configuration files. Specifically, if a .dws file includes a string exceeding 520 bytes, the application fails to adequately check for bounds, thereby enabling an attacker to execute arbitrary code upon opening the file. This flaw poses significant security risks, as it allows unauthorized access and control over the affected systems.
