What is CVE-2011-1488?

A memory leak vulnerability exists in rsyslog prior to version 5.7.6, where improper handling of repeated log messages can lead to the denial of the rsyslogd daemon service. By sending a rapid sequence of log messages while the $RepeatedMsgReduction feature is enabled, a local attacker can exploit this flaw to crash the logging service, disrupting normal operations.
