What is CVE-2011-2530?

A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the RSEds.dll component of RSHWare.exe within Rockwell Automation's EDS Hardware Installation Tool versions 1.0.5.1 and earlier, as well as RSLinx Classic prior to version 2.58. This allows remote attackers, under specific conditions, to manipulate a malformed .eds file, leading to application crashes (denial of service) or potentially arbitrary code execution.
