What is CVE-2012-2944?

A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the addchar function within common/parseconf.c of Network UPS Tools (NUT) prior to version 2.6.4. This flaw can be exploited by remote attackers through a crafted input string containing non-printable characters, potentially leading to unexpected behavior such as arbitrary code execution or creating a denial of service condition, like an electric power outage.
