What is CVE-2012-4714?

The integer overflow vulnerability found in RNADiagnostics.dll of Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk Services Platform can be exploited by remote attackers. By sending specially crafted UDP data that specifies a large integer value, an attacker could trigger a service outage or crash the RNADiagReceiver.exe daemon. This flaw affects multiple versions of the FactoryTalk Services Platform, creating potential risks for systems relying on this automation technology.
