What is CVE-2012-5816?
AOL Instant Messenger 1.0.1.2 fails to properly verify that the server hostname matches the domain name specified in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate. This vulnerability allows attackers to conduct man-in-the-middle attacks by presenting a valid certificate from an arbitrary server, potentially leading to the interception and manipulation of user communications.
