WPA2 Implementation Flaw in Belkin N900 Router
CVE-2012-6371
Currently unrated
What is CVE-2012-6371?
The Belkin N900 F9K1104v1 router's WPA2 implementation has a significant security flaw wherein it generates a WPS PIN derived from the first 6 digits of the LAN/WLAN MAC address. This predictable method allows attackers to potentially gain unauthorized access to the Wi-Fi network by capturing and analyzing broadcast packets. This issue exposes users to risks as the ease of guessing or brute-forcing the WPS PIN diminishes the overall security of the wireless network.
