What is CVE-2012-6470?

The Opera browser versions prior to 12.12 contain a vulnerability related to memory allocation for GIF images. This flaw can be exploited by remote attackers through the use of specially crafted images. The malformed images can lead to arbitrary code execution or trigger a denial of service due to memory overwrite, compromising user security.
