What is CVE-2013-1430?

A significant security flaw was discovered in xrdp prior to version 0.9.1. When users log in through RDP to an xrdp session, a file is generated at ~/.vnc/sesman_${username}_passwd. This file contains the user's password encrypted using a known key with DES, rendering the credentials vulnerable to exposure in cleartext. If an attacker gains access to this file, they can easily retrieve the user's cleartext password, increasing the risk of unauthorized access to systems.
