What is CVE-2013-3571?

A vulnerability in socat prior to versions 1.7.2.2 and 2.0.0-b6 when configured for listen mode with the fork option enabled allows remote attackers to exploit the system by generating numerous requests that exceed file descriptor limits, leading to denial of service. The attack targets restrictions based on source port, low port, range, or tcp wrappers, ultimately resulting in the application becoming unresponsive.
